Holiday Soaps Galore!
For Christmas this year, Alex and I made soaps by hand for our friends and family! On this page, I have information about the soaps we made. Please tell us what you think!
Shea Butter Soap
Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Soap
This soap literally contains pumpkin! But it’s not edible…seriously! It also contains oatmeal which is well known for its exfoliating and nourishing benefits. We actually didn’t create this recipe, we followed the recipe at: http://www.lovinsoap.com/2011/10/hot-process-soap-series-the-great-pumpkin-loaf/
Mint Chocolate Soap
Coffee Nut Soap
This is our MANLY soap. At least that’s what Alex thinks. It’s a coffee soap with ground coffee beans and ground walnuts added as exfoliants. Coffee is great for deodorizing; try using it after cutting some garlic. Inspired by: http://artofmanliness.com/2011/05/12/how-to-make-bar-of-soap/
Oatmeal Rose Mint Soap
Alex likes rose scent so we tried to incorporate it in this soap as well as in the Shea soap. However, the scent didn’t hold very well in the soap, so I’m not sure if you can smell it! Can you?? Anyways, this is a great one for it’s moisturizing benefits containing both shea and cocoa butter as well as oatmeal for exfoliating effect.
We made soaps using the Hot Process Method. Ingredients included Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Almond Oil, Pumpkin, Walnuts, Coffee, Cocoa, Oatmeal, Rose Essential Oil (EO), Peppermint EO, Citrus EO, Clove EO, Cinnamon EO & Sodium Hydroxide.
Please let us know what you think of your soaps! Which one is your favorite? How come??
